The Reveal – What Exactly Is It?
Before I get into exactly what “The Reveal” is, I just wanted to give my thanks to some incredible people who made this happen.
Chadstone Accountancy and Tax
Specifically, to Al and Rob. I’ve had the idea of “The Reveal” for quite a while now, but honestly, never had the right space and environment to execute the idea. That was until I got into a conversation with Rob about the idea. What I love about talking to the guys over at Chadstone is the genuine keen interest they have in your business. No matter how small or what it is they just want to take care of you. After speaking with Rob about the idea (and a few more surprises I have lined up), he offered up the use of their office space. He took one look in one of the empty meeting rooms and said, how about if we put a comfy chair and sofa in there and you can project against the wall.
Well… I was floored. I couldn’t quite believe it. I’ve spent weeks and months searching for the ideal space. Something that wasn’t your typical stuffy office or meeting space. Something with a little industrial vibe, something a little ‘me’.
Conversations continued with Al and before I knew it, the first Reveal was on the calendar.
Bit without them, none of this would happen (ok, so maybe… maybe I could find another space.. but, I just don’t think it would check every single box.)
Last but not least, to Lizzie and Jon for being the ‘Gunia pigs’. These pair were incredibly patient whilst I started to get things in motion and from their reaction and feedback, I couldn’t have asked for a better trial couple.
But, it doesn’t stop there…
After speaking to Clare about it, we began to bounce around ideas. I knew what I wanted and how I wanted it, but turning that vision into reality was something that Clare just knew how to do. From champagne buckets to cheese knives (to countless hours and miles clocked up), she’s helped me every step of this new venture. But the truth is…
“The Reveal” is only just the beginning.
We’ve got this far, so what exactly is it?
The concept of The Reveal isn’t revolutionary. It’s a celebration and the perfect way to bring closure to your Wedding festivities. About 5-6 weeks after your wedding The Reveal is designed as a get-together. A get together where we have some nibbles, we drink some bubbly, we reflect back on your wedding, your honeymoon, by this point, we know each other well enough that we’re talking about the last 5-6 weeks like we’re catching up as good friends. It’s the first time you’ll see a selection of your images so we can’t forget the 3 minute slideshow of some of the highlights from your wedding on a 100 inch plus projection…. No scrolling on your 4-inch phone, no cramping around a laptop screen. Digital images displayed the way they really should be. Oh and for those that are keeping an eye on my social media.. There may be a surprise or 2 thrown in. For those that have included Albums in your collections, we’ll discuss next steps.
Who’s it for?
The Reveal is currently only offered to those who have booked a full day’s coverage.
So, why?
The truth is, it felt a little strange to bring the wedding to a close with an email containing a link to your Gallery. Sure, don’t panic…. You absolutely still get that if that’s what you’ve chosen. But as your photographer, I would argue that I spend the most time with you out of all your vendors, and to bring that to a close via an email just lost the whole human element to it all. It’s not the way I would want my wedding photos, so why would it be yours?
But Rich, what if we don’t want The Reveal?
You don’t?! Really?! – Then I obviously haven’t explained it enough. Look, I get it, sometimes it’s not always going to be possible or even practical, but there are ways around everything and if not, then I can assure you, you won’t be left feeling like you missed out.
So what’s next?
Honestly, it’s a secret and you’re just going to have to keep your eye out.
But wait there’s more…
