Gemma and Dan at Pistyll Rhaeadr
When Gemma asked the possibility of doing hers and Dans Engagement session at Pistyll Rhaeadr, I must confess, I got quite excited. It turns out, Gemma loves waterfalls and the couple came here for a day out last year (all be it, in somewhat warmer weather)
Pistyll Rhaeadr is located a few miles from the village of Llanrhaeadr-ym-Mochnant in Powys, Wales and if you haven't been, is well worth a visit.
There is a small pay and display car park at the top, or a little further down you can park free of charge in a layby offering parking places for around 20 cars.
Never having been there before, brought about an element of the unknown but a refreshing one at that. I mean, a beautiful waterfall, stunning scenery and a view that smacks you in the face! There isn't really much more you can ask for.
So I set off from a cloudy and gloomy Shropshire and after a scenic drive, arrived in a cloudy and gloomy Powys.
Combined with the Emergency Helicopter hovering overhead.,I started to wonder just exactly what I had let myself in to.
Turns out, it was fantastic. The light was just the right amount to provide a lovely setting through the trees and a nice even cast in the open. Combined with a couple of minutes of hail and a willing and happy couple, the day was made.
Keep an eye open for their Wedding later this year at Lilleshall Hall, Shropshire
